LCG is seeking a Desktop Support Technician will be a very hands-on, senior member of a the Technical support team responsible for PC desktop, laptop configuration, mobile device, and application support including Windows operating systems and software and other applications. This is an internal customer-facing role, and requires excellent prioritization, responsiveness, and customer service, along with excellent verbal communication skills.
The Senior Desktop Support Technician participates in projects, provides technical support including maintenance and upgrading of desktops and laptops. This position requires availability to handle after-hours calls including nights and weekends on an infrequent basis.
VMware Virtual Desktop (VDI) administration
Provides professional helpdesk support for local users
Logs incident/trouble calls and emails into IT Service Management system
Monitor incident log for timely assignments
Assist with Windows Deployment System building desktop and installing applications
Assist in other IT related areas as needed
Skills and Experience:
Has a professional, pleasant, and patient demeanor
Experience working with VIP and Executive staff
Ability to communicate effectively, both in person, over the phone, and in writing
Works effectively as a team member while having ability to work independently
Strong attention to detail
Desired Technical Knowledge:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS (Windows 7/8)
Knowledge of Macintosh OS
VMware Virtual Desktop (VDI) version 5.3
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
Basic network knowledge and experience
Experience with Windows Deployment Services (WDS) and Microsoft Deployment Kit (MDT)
Experience supporting mobile devices including Blackberry and Apple iPhone
Experience supporting video conferencing
Education & Minimum Qualifications:
3 years in desktop support role
2 degree in Information Technology is preferred but not necessary
A and MCP certifications preferred
