to join our team! This position will be based out of our main office located in Bay Minette, AL.
SERVICE TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST – Bay Minette, AL
Provide technical assistance and expertise concerning Quincy rotary and reciprocating products. Assists Field Service Technicians, distributor personnel and end users in the maintenance and service of those products. Provide training to Service Technicians and distributors. Maintains the integrity of the product documentation.
Nature & Scope:
This position reports to the Technical Services Department Manager. The position is responsible for the technical support and troubleshooting of Quincy products in the field and for training of personnel concerning those products. This position is responsible for gathering and reporting failure information on products manufactured and/or sold thru Quincy Compressor.
Troubleshoot problems with equipment for Field Service Technicians, distributors and end users.
Assist customers to the best of their ability to obtain technical information needed to be satisfied with the performance of their Quincy Compressor.
Continually update personal knowledge of new products or modifications to existing product lines and various warranty policies.
Assist in maintaining current product documentation for the Technical Service Department.
Screen and process claims of warranty on the products in a timely manner.
Provide daily reports of field problems reported by phone and email.
Provide monthly report on product failures and warranty claims to product quality personnel.
Generate “Service Alerts” concerning product updates or changes.
Generate warranty part orders when required for emergency field repairs.
Generate RMAs for returned goods as required for warranty evaluation and vendor requests.
Travel to the field when required for the resolution of service related problems
Provide training to Service Technicians and distributors on product service and repair both in service school and in the field when needed.
Assist the Technical Service Manager in providing training and direction to Service Technicians.
Accept and complete any special projects/assignments that are not principle duties of this position, but are in line with goal and objectives of this department and/or division.
May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Education and Experience:
High School Degree required with an Associates Degree preferred.
2-3 Years Experience Preferred
