About The Opportunity

Job Purpose

Under moderate supervision, relies on instructions and pre-established procedures to provide support to computer users in resolving a variety hardware and software issues. Will typically be dispatched by the helpdesk.

Key Responsibilities

Principal Accountabilities

1) Following established procedures while also using a degree of creativity and latitude,
provides technical support in response to end user calls, e-mails and personnel
requests for help by identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems.

2) Documents, tracks and monitors problems to ensure timely resolution.

3) Develops and resolves problems and may build infrastructure.

4) Mentors/trains more junior Help Desk Technicians

5) Assist in the development and maintenance of a business culture, which supports
the Companys overall business objectives and goals, to include
issues that involve cost, quality, process, schedule and people.

6) Ensure the companys commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the
environment through the establishment and support of Company policy and
adherence to various government regulations.

7) Fully comply with the GKN Aerospace, Inc. Policy Statement on Contracting with
the United States Government in all areas of responsibility involving direct and
indirect contracting with the United States Government.
8) Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Education

Associate degree, technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. One network operating system certification or two internetworking vendor certifications desired.

Experience and Qualifications

Must have a minimum of two years of directly related experience as a computer technician in basic computer support and networking for PCs with Windows Operating Systems and have basic productivity software skills.

Able to participate in the communications of technical information to non-technical audiences

Good vision with correction

Ability to multi-task with good attention to detail

Ability to climb using ladders/booms

Ability to travel internally within the facility campus

Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions

Ability to withstand loud noise of a machine shop environment
