Supervisor of Payroll, Financial Services

Minimum of three years' work experience in Payroll and/or Human Resources; supervisory experience preferred; bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution required; graduate level work preferred in business administration, Human Resources, or related areas preferred; knowledge and experience in the use of time and attendance systems and processes, payroll processing systems, Human Resources information systems, and/or database systems; high level of expertise with various software tools in support of payroll, time and attendance, and related accounting functions.


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; sit; use hands and arms; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the ability to hear the spoken word at a normal volume and at 20 feet with back turned. The employee must be able to effectively present information to groups of people both in and out of the School Division. This will require standing for long periods of time and expected that the employee will transport and handle cases of forms, in-service materials, booklets, and audio-visual equipment. This position demands a high level of performance and the employee must be able to work additional hours, meet deadlines, learn new procedures rapidly, and adjust to changes in procedure. Data entry and looking at computer screens will be a major component.
The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will be in all kinds of environments. The noise level will vary from silent to very noisy. Many hours will be involved in the use of the computer and phone. This position will require overnight travel and will occasionally be required to utilize public conveyances for travel.

The administrative coordinator position oversees the system management of the Divisionwide time and attendance solution. This position will be responsible for the system configuration, setup, and maintenance. This position will provide ongoing support on the system conversions, upgrades, and enhancements to the Kronos system. This position will manage the Kronos help desk, interface with business users, Kronos vendor and business analysts, lead the design and documentation of technical specifications, and ensure that they comply with business users' requirements.

•Work collaboratively with all stakeholders in providing a World-Class Education.
•Serve as the technical expert regarding Kronos system functionality, system, and device administration for both hardware and software.
•Responsible for the daily operational support for the Kronos system.
•Provide production support for the interface to Advantage HR payroll system.
•Inform management regularly on issues, recommendations, and metrics defined for the implementation and ongoing utilization of the system.
•Responsible for Divisionwide training on the use of the time and attendance system.
•Responsible for design and documentation of technical specifications and ensures they comply with business requirements.
•Serve as project manager or team member for the development and implementation of system configuration, upgrades, and enhancements to the system.
•Interface with business users, Kronos vendor, and business analysts to provide support for configuration, setup, and process refinement.
•Conduct routine audits of security, monitoring license and clock requests, develop user education tools and leading user group forums.
•Complete other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Payroll and the Director of Financial Services.

•Knowledge of pay and leave practices administered in time and attendance systems.
•Excellent problem solving, technical, and analytical skills.
•Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to changing needs of the business.
•Experience in managing a help desk or customer service staff.
•Experience in development of training materials and rollout of training to a large organization.
•Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of management.
•Must be a self-starter, self-directed, and able to organize and plan projects.
•Assist with developing code, updates, or modifications to interfaces from other systems.
