The Bank to Bank Payment Transaction Processing Specialist will perform day-to-day diverse tasks pertaining to Letter of Credits for bank clients as per the following requirements:
Under minimal supervision, perform detailed and in-depth duties related to payments under Letter of Credits
Serve as the main Letter of Credits operations representative by providing complete customer service to clients; process will include the processing of payments and may include cross training of other aspects of Letter of Credit which includes advising, amendments, and examination and all related communications under Letter of Credits.
Major functions: Working independently and within a team, under minimal supervision performs the following detailed and complex activities:
Review Swift and mail Letter of Credits or other related documentation for payment instructions.
Process and administer daily transactions using Letter of Credits system for customers and foreign banks ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Provide support to internal and external customers to research and resolve issues, questions and concerns related to International Trade Finance products that require moderate analysis.
Review all documents presented under the Letter of Credits for Boycott, OFAC, and regulatory compliance issues and refer as necessary.
Research and resolve complex accounting discrepancies related to Letters of Credit and/or Documentary Collections as needed. Actively maintain records for audit trails.
Respond to or initiate telephone calls, emails, faxes, Swift, correspondence to or from clients, third party, vendors, and/or banks.
Should possess good trade product knowledge especially on Trade payment, export documentation, assignment of proceeds, bills discounting, SWIFT message and funds transfers. In-depth knowledge of the accounting terms would be an added advantage.
Prefer knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP, Boycott regulations, and OFAC compliant requirements including complex processing.
Ability to work effectively under pressure with high volume and controlled by deadlines.
Ability to organize and change priorities frequently within a given day, multitask, work independently and with others while demonstrating a positive attitude, and the ability to work with focus and urgency.
Strong attention to detail, planning, and timeliness.
Good PC skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. Proficient in typing and data entry skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and client focus to facilitate customer service and teamwork.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to follow standing procedures and understanding of clients’ or Financial Institutions' instructions which may differ among transaction and client and/or FI.
Strong ability to follow instructions as it relates to transactional processing and any other related subject.
Ability to make decisions and utilize all available resources and tools to minimize corporate and client risk; numerical thought process and control orientated.
Capable of making balanced judgment and independent decisions within the scope of the procedure; analytical.
Ability to prepare, format, and proof for accuracy of data content for internal and external reports as it relates to the data on assigned transactions.
Work schedule: Monday - Friday / Flexible 8 hours between 8:30 am – 6:30 pm
