This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level.\u003c/p\u003e

\u003cli\u003eEvaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eField incoming help requests from end users via both telephone and e-mail in a courteous manner.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eDocument all pertinent end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eBuild rapport and elicit problem details from help desk customers.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003ePrioritize and schedule problems. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eRecord, track, and document the help desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eApply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eAccess software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eIdentify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003ePerform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eInstall anti-virus software.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003ePerforming preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eTest fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003ePerform post-resolution follow-ups to help requests.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eDevelop help sheets and frequently asked questions lists for end users.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eEnsure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data residing on or transmitted to/from/through enterprise workstations, servers and other systems and in databases and other data repositories.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eEnsure the compliance to enterprise security policy.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eProvide on-call support for a 24x7 operations and be able to work any shift.\u003c/li\u003e
