Miller Network Innovations is seeking a candidate for a Tier I/II network technician/help desk position. MNI is a managed service provider offering IT support and network administration to small businesses, schools and non-profits. The position is full time, M-F 8-5 and on-call outside business hours. The candidate must be able to do basic configuration of network equipment such as firewalls and switches, troubleshoot Microsoft based servers (2008-2016) and provide general desktop support to end users in a variety of environments.

Position duties include:

Answer company phones and assist clients with technical issues or escalate to higher level of support

Troubleshoot network issues

Manage Windows based servers and related technology such as Active Directory, Group Policy, data storage, DNS, DHCP etc

Assist end users with any PC problem such as printing, MS Office, Windows OS and more

Computer repair including virus removal, hardware installation and misc other issues

Install network cabling and network equipment

Position requirements

Good customer service, writing, and speaking skills

Strong familiarity of Microsoft Windows 7-10

Basic knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server management

Understanding and application of basic networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, firewall port forwarding etc required.

Linux knowledge a plus but not required

Comptia A , Network are pluses and Microsoft certifications a plus

Must be able to work independently

Ability to configure basis network equipment such as firewalls, wireless access points and switches

Ability to lift at least 30 pounds and climb stairs or ladders required

Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check required

At least one year of experience providing IT desktop support and/or network technician duties

Minimum education is completed Associates level degree in Information Technology

Schedule and pay

Position is full time Monday-Friday 8-5. Employee will be on rotating on-call assignment after hours. Work is a mix of remote support from our Centerville office and on-site work when required. The position starts as a 6 month contract. After 6 months position is promoted to full staff and is eligible for benefits such as health, dental, vision insurance and paid time off.


Due to the high priority nature of our business candidates must have reliable transportation. MNI provides the use of company vehicles for most on-site activities but in an emergency the employee may need to use their own transportation (employees are compensated when using personal vehicles for business needs).
